JONATHAN CANADY - "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to The Mind" 2010 CD $12 "...a sickly thick hybrid of organic and synth sounds, “The Mind”’s 30 parts working as either a huge fractured piece or as tiny shocks of twisted black thoughts. Mixing up splatterskull shots of John Carpenter melodic patterns, the shock of dynamics and a living metallic (and menacing) tone, this is distressing enough a ride even without the visuals. It’s all coming from a very unsettling mental space, the electronics grinding, slithering and winding itself around the listener’s head like thoughts that can’t be controlled." - Scott McKeating / Foxy Digitalis. Limited to 250 copies. This is a pro-manufactured CD in a factory sealed jewel case. Listen to the entire album or buy as a "Pay What You Want" digital download here. Watch "The Mind" trailer here. |

INTRINSIC ACTION - "II" CD $12 Originally recorded in April 1986, utilizing an Arp 2600 analog synthesizer, "II" was the INTRINSIC ACTION's second official release. "II" shows a different side of the band; one that was initially influenced by Lustmord, Throbbing Gristle (in particular, their soundscape work), SPK, (early) Hunting Lodge, and Maurizio Bianchi (MB). The original recording was released as two connected sidelong instrumental pieces, however, for this re-release, master tapes were used to present the two pieces as the single 45-minute-long work that was originally recorded. As bonus tracks, four unreleased works, recorded during the same time period, demonstrate a heavier approach, and ultimately introduce vocals to the release. This is a pro-manufactured CD in a factory sealed jewel case. Listen to a free MP3 sample from this album here.

INTRINSIC ACTION - "III" CD $12 The material on this archival compact disc was recorded in Chicago, live and in the studio, between 1985 and 1987. The disc's bonus studio tracks include new edits of two previously unreleased installments in the Source Control (SCTL) series. These two tracks, created in May and September 1987, are comprised of processed source material that was originally recorded in October 1985, and like previous SCTL pieces, they are influenced by the heavier soundscape-industrial music of the early- to mid-1980s. (MALSONUS.COM note - These SCTL tracks are amazing! Fans of Root Industrial (Throbbing Gristle, etc) and primarily Maurizio Bianchi enthusiasts will be very pleased. I was!) This is a pro-manufactured CD in a factory sealed jewel case. Listen to a free MP3 sample from this album here.

INTRINSIC ACTION - "Bad Jack" CD $12 The Arbeit Group, the short-lived but groundbreaking American industrial label, originally issued "Bad Jack," INTRINSIC ACTION's fourth full-length release, in 1988, as a 60-minute cassette. These recordings, and the photography associated with this project, focused on the notorious Chicago area serial killer, John Wayne Gacy. Combining aggressive, sharp power-electronics, with longer, old-school industrial noise workouts, "Bad Jack" gives listeners an opportunity to explore a dynamic evolutionary period for INTRINSIC ACTION. Two additional tracks were added: a live version of the song, "Bad Jack," from 1992, and a "Source Control" remix. This is a pro-manufactured CD in a factory sealed jewel case. Listen to a free MP3 sample from this album here.

INTRINSIC ACTION - "Five" CD $12 Recorded in Chicago in 1987 and 1988, "Five" was originally released as a C-60 cassette by AWB Recording. A second edition with revised cover artwork was released in 1992, after the band relocated to New York. Like the previous INTRINSIC ACTION reissues, "Five" is comprised of both live and studio material. The disc's lengthy, primary studio track, was recorded in May 1987, and it is comprised of processed source material, influenced by the heavier soundscape-industrial music of the early- to mid-1980s. This archival release also features a bonus track that utilizes unreleased SCTL-related studio material from May 1988, edited and mastered specifically for this compact disc. This is a pro-manufactured CD in a factory sealed jewel case. Listen to a free MP3 sample from this album here.
