DEATHPILE on a hardcore comp? Well, let me tell you... Sometime around 2003 I developed a friendship with the now defunct Philly noise/metalcore band LICKGOLDENSKY. The highlight of this relationship was me doing vocals (the DEATHPILE song "See You Cry" from the WHOREBUTCHER split) for them at a basement show. They were just making an amazing non-rhythmic crushing free-jazz racket behind me and I was delivering vocals in the usual DP style. It came across like (dare I say) early SWANS meets power electronics. Sadly no recording was made and it is just a fading memory for the few people that witnessed it. It might have been my favorite "DEATHPILE performance" ever. So, shortly thereafter they asked me to remix one of their songs. I did it, although I wasn't too happy with the result. So, fast forward a couple of years and here it is on the second disc of this compilation. I don't have a copy of the disc myself but maybe I'll fork over the cash for one soon. Maybe not.

Front cover. Looks like a rip off of the early BIG BLACK records to me. But, hey... there are worse things to rip off.
